God often uses hard things in our lives to draw us to Himself. This past year the community of Yapak has been struggling due to job losses and loss of income. This is due to the lack of tourism because of the Covid 19 pandemic. Yet through the hard times God is working and drawing people to Himself. On May 10, seventeen people professed their faith and were baptized. One girl shared how she originally attended church out of obligation, because she was under the Strong Roots educational sponsorship program, but God spoke to her and she now wants to follow Him with her whole heart. Through her testimony her mother and aunt also came to faith and were baptized alongside of her.
Another poor woman had received a food hamper from the last HFL team we sent there in February 2020. During that time the team prayed with her and that was one of the seeds God planted in her heart. She now too professed her faith and was baptized.
What a great God we serve!
