Many people in the community live in severely dilapidated homes put together with scrap pieces of tin, plywood and bamboo.  When the heavy rains come each year, homes are often severely damaged, and the roofs leak.  The recent Typhoon in 2019 devastated hundreds of homes, and left many more with desperate living conditions.

Strong Roots Ministry began addressing the housing and poor living conditions within their community by assessing the needs, and as funding permits, coming alongside families to assist in repairing and rebuilding their homes.

Latest update

3 more homes completed!

A team from Chilliwack raised funds and travelled to Boracay to assist in disaster relief and community development projects following the devastation caused by the Typhoon.

A total of 5 families were selected by Strong Roots Ministries as needing urgent assistance in repairing or rebuilding their homes which were affected by the recent typhoon.  While the team was there, they were able to assist in completing 2 new homes as well as an extensive renovation/repair of a 3rd home.

Funds were committed for an additional 3 homes to be built/renovated in March.
