The feeding centres are for those who have been identified as malnourished or at-risk children. They are fed a large, mid-day meal 3–4 times a week. UCI also provides health and nutritional training and simple agricultural techniques for the parents. UCI desires physical, mental, social and spiritual development for all the children in their communities.

Nutrition centers even more vital now
The situation in Haiti continues to spiral out of control with daily violent protesting. In November, 2022 gangs in Port au Prince seized control of the fuel port and the country was without gasoline or diesel for over 2 months. Electricity became scarce, and the food and supply chains were massively impacted as the country came to a complete halt.
The nutrition centers were even more vital than usual to the health of the children involved. Countless parents thanked UCI that they continued to send food to the nutrition centers and school lunch program so that their children would get at least one good meal a day. Many children told them that the meal at those locations was the only complete meal they had.
“Often we had to pay more than double what we had budgeted because prices went up, and that isn’t including the exorbitant price of gas that fueled the trucks that had to pick up and deliver the food. Yet God provided, and we didn’t have a month where the kids were not fed!!”
