Today, Wednesday May 7th, we started the day with a breakfast of sausage, eggs, toast, and fresh fruit before splitting into groups for the morning’s work. The boys began preparing concrete for a walkway from the dorms to the school, spending the morning clearing dirt to make space for the path. The girls headed into the classroom with Grades 4 and 5. We began with devotions led by Emily V., focused on the fruits of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22–23. After devotions, we worked on crafts with the students, making beaded bracelets and keychains, followed by a game of bingo. During recess, the girls joined the students in games like tag, volleyball, and soccer. In the afternoon, the girls returned to the classroom while the boys continued construction work outside. They also spent time interacting with students, playing basketball, and handing out hats and shoes, which were received with appreciation. As school ended, we all helped plant a hedge along the basketball court. We had some time to clean up and rest before heading out for our final home visits of the week. During this time we were able to spread the gospel and pray over the families. In the evening, we attended the church’s weekly prayer service. We broke into groups to share what we were thankful for and offered prayer requests. The day ended with time together, watching the Leafs game and making more bracelets, grateful for a day rooted in purpose and worship.
