Marilyn was born and raised on a farm in Southern Alberta and later moved to British Columbia to marry her husband, Tony, where they now reside. Together they have 6 children- four of whom are now married- and are proud grandparents to six granddaughters.
Marilyn helps with all the detailed entailed in teams travelling on missions trips, from booking flights, and on the ground details, to putting together handbooks for the teams to take with them.

I feel privileged to be part of the HFL team: to be able to use my skills, and build new skills, to help those in need, be it directly, or indirectly, is a huge blessing to me.
After many years as a stay-at-home mom, Marilyn transitioned into a new season of life and became a travel agent in 2024. That same year, she had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Guatemala with her youngest son, Tyler. The experience sparked a deep desire to do more. Later that fall, she joined Voice of Hope team for another trip to Kenya, where that spark turned to a calling.
When the opportunity arose to join the HFL staff, Marilyn felt it was a perfect fit. She now serves on the Teams and Projects Services team, where she can utilize her organizational skills and travel planning experience.
In her spare time, Marilyn enjoys all things floral, (especially making bouquets), reading, camping, quadding, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loves to travel and often accompanies her husband on business trips. Since her trip to Kenya, she has also travelled to the Philippines with her husband and son and looks forward to many more meaningful trips ahead.
