When our team visited Baray today, there are significant changes since my last visit in November 2025. The revamped front of the property now has a fruit stand to sell home grown fruit. There is a new building that is used as a store for VillageWorks products and as a coffee shop. The greenhouse is still growing new vegetables, and it even has an extension for the vegetable nursery. The workers cooked a delicious lunch for our team, with vegetables from the greenhouse and freshly cut fruits from the trees around this place. We had the privilege of consuming the fruitfulness of God’s natural beauty. Many happy and smiling faces all around.
As one walks along a pathway to the back, one will see the amazing landscape of this vast property. One will walk past a variety of plants and fruit trees, bananas, coconuts, and jackfruits, to name a few. Further along the pathway on the right one will notice a bamboo structure by a large pond. A place where one can sit on a hammock to rest and relax in the quietness of this rural place. One can feed the fish or even try catching a fish or two.
As this property is quite large, there is still unutilized land that can be turned into something beautiful. Anak is dreaming of the next phase of Baray. Hoping to see what new changes will be made next time I visit…
Baray continues to be a place of opportunity, as the community grows through the vocation opportunities, and Redemptive Business brings empowerment, and this is so encouraging to continue to see.
