Heading
Today we set out on a journey that has been prayed over long before a single bag was packed. I am flying out of Vancouver and meeting the rest of the team from Ontario in Frankfurt, Germany before our flight to Nairobi. Our destination is Kenya, but our purpose is far deeper than travel these many miles. We are going to walk alongside the women and children there and serve them in practical ways while pointing to the hope we have in and through our Lord and Saviour.
Scripture reminds us that “pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble” (James 1:27). This calling is not about charity alone, but about relationship, dignity, and faithful stewardship of what God has entrusted to us. We are stepping out in faith, as sisters in Christ, ready to listen, learn, encourage, and love.
Our prayer is that this trip would reflect Jesus in both word and deed: hands willing to work, hearts open to be changed, and lives that honour God. We ask for prayer for safe travels, unity, wisdom, and open doors for meaningful connection. May God be glorified, and may His love be felt deeply by those we have the privilege to serve—and by us as well.
