Hinton Church is committed to serving God, and loving people. With faith in Jesus Christ, they have a vision to see all people know His grace. With their international partner Christian and Missionary Alliance in Guatemala they are in involved in several projects in the community of Membrillal in Guatemala.  

The team has made numerous tript to Guatemala starting back in 2013. They have helped build a church and school in Membrillal. During these times they have done a variety of things besides the church and school, including pastoral support, education support, home reconstruction and food distribution.  

As a church they have faithfully supported the school and pastor for many years!

Project Name 1

CaimanMirebalais, Haiti

In November, a team of 14 including HFL leader Jason Krul traveled to Haiti to work alongside United Christians International in Pignon, and FONSOPED in Mirebalais. The team assisted in completing the construction of bridge near the school in Mirebalais, construction of a teacher's housing facility at UCI, conducted home visits in the community, participated in feeding programs, and more!

I have seen firsthand God at work—the Holy Spirit is very much in Haiti within the people.

A team from Hinton Alliance Church traveled to Guatemala in August to work alongside the local church and community in Membrillal and Zapote. This was Hinton's seventh trip, enabling them to further build on their relationships within the community. The team assisted in building a house in Membrillal, did construction work on the church in Membrillal, and participated in home visits throughout the community.

The team was able to assist in building 2 houses in Zapote and Membrillal, did construction work on the church in Membrillal, and participated in home visits throughout the community.

Membrillal, Guatemala

This was Hinton's fifth trip, enabling them to further build on their relationships within the community. The team built a house in Zapote for a widow and her young son, did construction work on the church in Membrillal, and participated in a class celebration service with the local school children.

Membrillal, Guatemala

A team of 6 people from Hinton Alliance Church, alongside HFL leader Kelvin Presakarchuk, worked alongside the local church and community. The team was involved in school construction as well as provided new homes and stoves for 2 families in the community. This was be Hinton's third trip, enabling them to further build on their relationships within the community.

Additional items accomplished:

  • Tore down two old houses in Zapote and built two new homes to replace them.
  • Built a playground at the church in San Lucas.
  • Removed several hundred wheelbarrows of dirt from the church building site in Membrillal and moved it 100 m away. This was to level the ground for the concrete slab that will be the church floor.
  • Purchased piñatas for the kids at the school in Membrillal and participated in their piñata fest.
  • Our church is sponsoring 20 kids this year at the school in Membrillal through HFL. We also have at least three people who are sponsoring kids in Membrillal through His Hands Guatemala based out of the USA.

Membrillal, Guatemala

A team of 21 people represented the 2nd group to travel and work alongside our field partners and a crew of local workers to continue construction on the local school. The team was also engaged in other areas of ministry including: youth outreach, a feeding distribution, sports and VBS activities.

“God put an on-going fire in my heart the whole time and I was in a state of compassion like never before.”

Membrillal, Guatemala

A group of 19 people from Hinton Alliance Church travelled to Guatemala alongside HFL Team Leader Kelly Edgeley. The team worked alongside Tono and Merari Rodriguez in the local community in Membrillal, helping build a school that will allow children who can't attend school the opportunity to do so. They poured classroom floors and an outside concrete pad for a play area. The team was also involved and served in the various ministries of the local Alliance Church.
