Arachnophobia

Heading

This morning we headed to Vasca where the locals were awaiting us. Lots of heavy work was planned for today. Some of us worked on stripping forms off of the pump shack roof and made cement for the floor under that roof. Others worked on removing the old dilapidated fence around the community well. All different kinds of animals were hiding amongst the bricks, tarantulas (even a full nest of babies), snails, wasps, fire ants, cockroaches. The team highlight of the day was watching Marilyn challenging her arachnaphobia by holding a fiesty trantula! We were even able to start on the foundation of the new fence. Some girls of the team put some talent together and painted a beautiful mural! We were also able to make many little girls happy with some dresses we took along, and brought some food baskets to some of the local residents. Tonight we had supper early to be able to walk to the beach before sunset to be able to watch it. Then after having some great discussions we headed off to bed.
Buenas noches!
