Day 8
Cultural humility: “ is an approach to understanding and respecting the cultural identities of individuals and communities.” This was discussed at breakfast and the insight from the team on this topic was enriching.

After breakfast the team headed to the Centre for the women’s drop in time. Gillian worked on a beautiful macrame craft, Debbie led painting sessions plus sewing and crocheting was happening in the sewing room. There was laughter, smiles and conversations with the help of the translator. Such a happy morning at the centre.

After drop in time, Patty,Debbie and Barb went back to the hotel for some quiet time. R and A took myself , Sara and Gillian to the market. What an amazing experience to walk through the market. So many things to see!

We reunited with the team at the hotel for a quick dinner, then we were off to Church. The message of the sermon was don’t take things for granted, which feels very appropriate for this trip.

What a great day and evening in this amazing place. I am going to end this blog with a quote

“ the beauty of the world lies in the diversity of the people” - unknown.
