The past three days have been ones of getting to know our guests, hearing their stories of loss, pain and suffering. Everyone of our guests have lost a loved one in the war. One couple that made the trip, lost two sons, one in 2022 and the other in 2024, hard to imagine!!!
Many of the ladies are left to raise grandchildren by themselves as their sons were killed in the war.
But through all their suffering they try to live their lives with some laughter and normalcy.
Ruth made some focaccia bread the other day and all the ladies wanted to have the recipe, so Ruth held a focaccia 101 baking class this afternoon.
While the focaccia bread was rising Mary demonstrated how to make a fall wreath outside on the patio. ( we have had some wonderful weather so far… 28 degrees as a high most days).
We look forward to next few days as we live life together.
