Day 5 - clinic work
We are often presented with unexpected opportunities that challenge and enrich us. While the rest of the team furthered their relationships empowering women’s groups, Jackie and I gave two diabetic workshops focusing on healthy eating and nutrition. Nurse C will be following up in the following weeks to further their understanding of their diabetes and how best to control it. 
We are so honoured that the women and men who attended were willing to trust us to teach them….although I think they were a little sceptical when we challenged some of their long held beliefs….Can you really eat as much bread as you want as long as it it burnt??? 
We so appreciate C and R’s patience and understanding as we are learning to communicate in a complex culture that we do not yet fully understand. And all the people we meet who shower us with love and acceptance.
