Heading
Maureen is a beautiful young woman whom God has made a true leader. She is a mentor to the other ladies at spiritual group and cares deeply that each one has a strong relationship with God. When we arrived for our visit, she was outside hanging clothes on the line. She told us they were the Sunday school T-shirts for the children. Maureen is educated and always reaches for a pen to write down any teaching or Bible verses that are shared with her.
Elizabeth has a big, welcoming smile and great joy in the Lord, even though she became a widow at just 23 years old. Elizabeth attends the spiritual groups and is always eager to learn. She comes across as quiet, but when she begins singing and praising the Lord, you can see her true self radiating with joy!
Margaret, who is 75 years old, was busy working in her shamba when we arrived today. Such a strong, beautiful woman! She is very grateful that her grandchildren are receiving an education.
Millicent’s face was glowing as we entered her home today! So beautiful to see, especially since two years ago, when we first met her, she wouldn’t even make eye contact. Her home is neat and tidy. She is so thankful that the Lord brought her and Voice of Hope together and that she is now receiving the help she needs.
Anastasia is a quiet woman who shared with us that she often feels lonely. She prays that her daughter, Beatrice, would visit more often. It was such a blessing to see Anastasia open up during our visit and even flash a few smiles!
Helen is quiet but strong. We were blessed to be able to visit her in her home, as the roads can become too muddy to reach her when the rains come. Helen greeted us wearing a beautiful, shiny shirt and had the children’s school progress reports ready to share with us. Helen has had some issues with her teeth, but that doesn’t stop her from smiling when we are all gathered together. She has such a gentle spirit and expressed how thankful she is for our visits.
Visiting these dear ladies becomes more meaningful with each passing year. We’ve made so many new memories and built even stronger relationships with them all. Their faith is such a deep encouragement to each of us on the team. We see the Lord at work in their lives, and for that, He is worthy of all the praise!
