This morning we woke to the news that our dear friend Violet had passed away. Her suffering and hardships of this life are over. “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Rev. 21:4 **
**Although we were expecting her not to live long, the news still saddened us. She will greatly be missed by her family, community and all of us that knew her.
After breakfast we went to Yogo Church for our Ladies Day event where 35 smiling ladies greeted us .
The women then had the opportunity to have their blood pressure taken and received a teaching on blood pressure and diabetes.
This afternoon we went on several visits as a team. The ladies were all thankful for the opportunity to visit one another, and especially the teaching they had received: many admitted to being careless about taking blood pressure meds, but now that they understood the risks, they would be more faithful!
One visit in particular stood out: at each visit we ask for prayer requests and this lady just had many things she was thankful for. She was thankful to God for walking beside us from Canada to Kenya, thankful that we were placed in her life, thankful for her health, and the last thing she mentioned was that she was thankful for her door that had been replaced this year by VOH.
We ended our visits just as the daily thunderstorm began, and made our way back to the hotel where dinner and a time of fellowship awaited us
