Our Last Day

Heading

We had an emotional and busy last day. After breakfast we headed to Chivoc for one last morning of digging and leveling the dirt. After lunch, Pastor Victoriano and his wife Felicita gave us gifts of cloths and purses that’s were made by the ladies in the church. Then we headed out in the bus to deliver six food hampers with Pastor Victoriano. At each home, the people spoke Ketchikal, a local dialect that Pastor Victoriano translated to Spanish then Daniel translated to English. Many of the people were not connected with the church but the ladies in the church visit them and take care of them. So great to hear that the church shows Jesus’ love in this way. We got back to the house in time for much needed showers then headed to the church for a farewell service. This included worship with Nehemias leading, then a group of ladies sang some hymns. Yesterday we delivered a food hamper to Abraham and his wife and I remembered that he used to sing in a band. I asked if he was going to sing tonight so he sang with Walter, one of the construction workers at Anna’s house, and a few others in his family. What a special surprise!! Our worship team also led several songs. Then Ciel, Sarah and Liz shared their testimonies. And Pastor Brent preached on Psalm 139. At the end of the service they called us up to the front and prayed over us. We had many goodbyes and headed back to the house for one last delicious meal from Dina and packing to leave tomorrow! I’m so proud of this team and how hard they worked this week! They jumped into new experiences and thrived. They were brave in sharing their testimonies. They have been a joy to lead. Until next time!
