Today was sports day. We got the chance to do VBS with the kids from San Raymundo in the morning and Chivoc in the afternoon. We played a few different carnival games with them; tug of war, potato sacks, and egg and spoon racing. It was a very fun experience, and meeting all the kids was very exciting. The kids got to play a lot of soccer, which they seemed to really enjoy. Our team put in a lot of effort prepping all the activities, so we are glad it turned out to be such a fun day. We shared the bible story about how Jesus healed the paralyzed man, and the kids had to carry Victoria (representing the paralyzed man) to Dan (Jesus) to show how he healed him. The kids were able to share some heart warming prayers, and after VBS, the kids got pizza and did some fun crafts. They made bracelets, ornaments, and Pom Pom launchers, and gifted many of us the little crafts they made. We all got decked out in temporary tattoos and got to end the day with lots of hugs and high fives from all the kids.
