Greetings from the Philippines
After 48 hours of traveling, we finally made it to our destination in Boracay at the Oasis Hotel. We were welcomed with warm smiles and refreshing mango juice. We met Jovan, the leader of this community and the owner of the Oasis Hotel.
After settling into our room and enjoying a delicious chicken burger lunch, we headed out to visit the three homes we hope to begin building tomorrow. The first family we visited has a special needs child, and the father works as a fisherman. His income depends on the weather, and since it was too windy for fishing, there was no income for the family that day. They were overjoyed with our arrival, and the daughter excitedly requested an orange house with butterflies.
We were truly humbled by the need this families faces. Their current home is in very poor condition.
We wrapped up the day with a quick trip to the mall and an evening sunset walk by the ocean, which was absolutely breathtaking. We were then served a delicious dinner and ended the evening with a devotional based on John 13.
