Another blessed day in the DR

After a very restful last night and an excellent breakfast we spent time in prayer for the staff of Obispo Kellogg that have taken excellent are of us, loaded up our suitcases and departed from San Pedro. We had about an hour and half drive to Santo Domingo where we visited a preschool class in the church at Guerra. Sadie and Krystal sang choruses with the children, it was fun to see them joining in the actions.

Activities with the children were helping them put jewels on a crown and do some coloring. Once again Gleaners soup mix from Canada was prepared to feed the little ones. Having worked at Gleaners it is a joy to see it being used like this.

The children were absolutely adorable and most loveable, giving everyone big hugs. One fell asleep in Dell’s arms while waiting to be picked up at the end of their day.

We spent time praying for Pastor Matthew and his family and his work in this community. Pastor Matthew is an undocumented Haitian, yesterday he went to pick up children from school and instead found himself on a bus being deported to Haiti. The system is such that with enough Dominican pesos you can come right back home. Please join us in prayer for Pastor Matthew to get documentation, and for his wife's health as she ministers in the church and leads the playschool.

After this we were off to a public school where there was a Days For Girls presentation, and distribution. Then off to our new beds.

I might add that this has truly been a Proverbs 10:22 day.
