Playing Whack A Mole

Wow, leading this team has been like playing a game of Whack A Mole. Thank you for your prayers for our health. We have experienced several team members being tummy sick for a day and then needing a day to recover from the body aches.
We did our last kids program this morning, it was Sadie’s turn to be unwell, but Krystal did an amazing job of leading the children in song. Elaine and Debbie donned the granny pants (aka snowpants) and endured the ‘snowball’ fight that ensued. The children had a riot throwing snowballs at one another for 10 minutes straight. They really engaged with the story and learned a lot about their value and their place in the family of God; we made crowns after to remind them that they are children of the Lord and in as much are princesses and princes. taking any home. Pray for them to have impact.
After this, some of the team went back to the grade 12 class and spent more time with the students. Dell was on his recovery day. It was delightful to spend more time talking with them and building relationship and trust, talking with them about comparatives and helping them with their grammar. Two of the girls in my group shared on a video, I can’t wait to share it with you when we get home.
Lorne had a full day today, he met with three classes and the staff of the whole school and shared his story of meeting the Lord through a gospel booklet. The teachers were very excited to receive a copy of the booklet, some asked for two or three. The students also were very engaged with his story, especially when he added a bonus headstand. Elaine was there to tie in the headstand to being physically fit, and that if you want to be strong spiritually you need to ‘work out’ your spiritual muscles everyday through scripture and prayer and time with God. Lorne brought 250 booklets in Spanish and English and is not taking any home.
Really, you just never know what Lorne is going to be up to. Skipping, arm wrestling… he's a major part of the Whack A Mole experience!
We met and prayed with two more women this afternoon that needed food support as they are so under resourced and are trying to raise their families well. Both women had lovely spirits and were quick to pray for us and the ministry, or to give thanks for the work that we have been doing.
Tonight we will organize and pack up, then tomorrow morning we have time at the medical clinic, more time with the grade 12 class, Lorne has another class of students, then we are off to the beach for an afternoon of sun and surf, then our last sleep and off to home.
We love you all and miss you and are looking forward to seeing you all.
