After a couple of restful days, our team was ready to give, serve and love on the people of FUDESA.
The morning was spent with 40 grade 1 students singing Bible actions songs, colouring, reading the book on how precious they are to God, and activities of skipping and the cherry on top - bubbles! It was clear to see that these kids have teachers who show up every day as they were very attentive and participated well.
Lorne was able to share his testimony with high school students and Lauri, Krystal and Sadie joined the Grade 12 students in conversational English classes.
After lunch we painted the outside wall of a housing unit in the heat so were very appreciative of the cold water showers!
A highlight was delivering food hampers to two families. Marta has four children to support but no job and we were able to pray for her physical needs, financial needs, mental health and her children. Pray for her as she wants to get closer to God and tries to read the Bible but life is a struggle. It was humbling to see her mustard seed faith with the few possessions she has.
Ishmael who is 16 received the food hamper for the family as his Mom was away. He said his sister is a believer but he is not. He listened to Lorne's testimony and asked for prayer for his Grandmother's and sister's health. Please pray for his salvation as well.
We are thankful that Lorne is getting back to normal but now Dell is feeling rough. It may be heat exhaustion but we covet prayers for the health of our team for the last two days in the Dominican Republic.
