Heading
Day 2 - Nairobi to Kisumu to Siaya.
We began our day with a great breakfast at our hotel(more than a few of us voiced a lack of restful sleep😳)
Hustling to catch our flight to Kisumu was a little challenging causing a bit of high blood pressure for the team leaders!
There we met up with Nagel, a local young man who has endured many trials but was providentially brought into contact with HFL. He and his family welcomed us and showed us around the Nyalenda slum where he grew up.
Many smiling young faces eagerly accepted our candy with some coming back for seconds. Although we witnessed heart-rending living conditions, we were amazed how he and his family continue to be a shining light in their community. Over lunch Najel shared his amazing story of Gods grace in his young life to become the leader he is today!
From there we piled back on the bus and headed over the busy mountain road to our next hotel in Siaya.
We split up to grab some groceries and visit an old widow to make plans for making her house more wheelchair friendly.
We ended a full day with debrief, dinner and devotion.
