Today we started off our morning by going to one of the Youth With a Mission (YWAM) bases here in Ensenada called Ranchos Abierto. It’s a family based camp, meaning they only accept married couples, with or without kids, for their programs. They offer the Discipleship Training School (DTS) program, as well as a one semester intensive Bible study, where they go through Genesis to Revelation in chronological order, and they are just starting a new homesteading program.
After that, the majority of the team went to the house build, where they almost completely finished the house! The roof was completely finished, the windows were put in, the electrical was completed and all the beds were built for the family. There’s still a few final finishing touches that will have to get done tomorrow before we hand over the house to Elvis and his family.
We came home and enjoyed a delicious Greek dinner prepared by Patricia (think Greek salad, pita bread, tzatziki, chicken, potatoes AND rice!) and some homemade gogoși (Romanian-style donuts) which Jessica made!
After a devo from Chris, reminding us how to live righteous lives and encouraging us to live our lives for Christ, we celebrated Lidia, sang happy birthday and ate some delicious cheesecake!
Our last task of the evening was to do some grocery shopping for food hampers which we packaged up and will be distributing to the migrant families tomorrow.
