Sunday morning marked the beginning of our journey with a meaningful visit to the Vasca community, where our medical team will be serving throughout the week. We had the privilege of joining an authentic Dominican-Haitian church service, and it was nothing short of uplifting. The energy, the music, and the wholehearted worship filled the room with a sense of unity and joy that was truly inspiring.
After the service, we met with Pastor David and Anna—two deeply respected leaders who faithfully guide and support their community. Their warmth and vision set the stage for a week of purposeful work.
We then walked over to the community center, where preparations began for the medical clinic and pharmacy. As tables were moved, supplies unpacked, and stations organized, there was a shared sense of anticipation. The week ahead holds opportunities to serve, to learn, and to be part of something that reaches far beyond ourselves.
It was a beautiful start—a reminder that when service begins with worship, gratitude, and connection, the rest of the week is built on a strong and meaningful foundation.
