The colonial district was beautiful, with our first stop being a beautiful cathedral. This was the first cathedral in Central America. As we walked through it, I couldn't help but be in awe of the beauty and grandeur.
Later we moved onto a historical fortress. Inside we learned much of the history of Santo Domingo, lead by our friend/tour guide Jonathan. And for lunch we had pizza😛

After lunch, we did a bit more sightseeing around Santo Domingo, and then headed to Juan Tomas. We are staying at a school called Fountain of Life School, and we are all enjoying it lots! Except Lorne, who is a little bit sick. I amazingly won a game of Five Crowns and we had a delicious supper of chicken and cheesy mashed potatoes. We are all looking forward to the upcoming week and we are incredibly grateful for the time we have already spent here.
