Fun in the Sun Friday!

I can’t believe it’s already Friday! The days seem to fly by when they’re packed with so much life and laughter. We kicked off the morning with our daily devotions and reflections on the rooftop together—it’s always such a grounding way to begin. Afterwards, the energy quickly shifted into high gear with a lively soccer match alongside the girls. It’s incredible how much joy a simple game can spark!
While the guys returned to their maintenance projects, a few of us jumped into the kitchen for lunch prep. On today’s menu? Roll Kuchen—a delicious treat that didn’t last long once it hit the table!
The kids played with our honorary camp pet, Chewy the turtle—who, based on his hops and energy, might actually be part frog. He definitely kept them entertained!
In the afternoon, we made our way to the beach for some much-needed wave-jumping and sunshine. Meanwhile, a group of girls and Randy took on animal care duties and headed to feed the horses—a beautiful way to connect with creation.
Back at camp, Beth continued her sessions with the girls and staff, sharing the colourful and redemptive story of Joseph. It was followed by a super fun tie-dye tote craft.
The evening brought everyone together in the courtyard around the campfire for a moving time of shared testimony. **
But the night wasn’t over yet—what started as a quiet gathering turned into an
impromptu celebration* of pure FUN: volleyball matches, limbo contests, tag, trampoline bouncing, dancing, and even some pool splashing under the stars. And of course, no evening is complete without the now-legendary chant echoing through camp:
*
“Chicken, Banana, Chicken, Banana, Chicken, Banana, Banana, Banana!”**
This Friday was a perfect mix of meaningful moments, silly memories, and sunshine-filled joy. And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.
Until tomorrow,
💛
