What a day!
We started early this morning, heading out to church to help lead Sunday school. Our lesson focused on the powerful story of Peter and Jesus walking on water—a beautiful reminder to keep our eyes on Jesus even when the waves feel overwhelming. To bring the story to life, we played charades with the kids, which brought lots of laughs and helped everyone stay engaged.
The church had a cozy coffee shop (yes, you read that right!), and we got to enjoy some seriously delicious coffee during the service. A Korean missionary shared her testimony followed by a sermon (translated by Larissa).
Back at El Refugio, we gathered for lunch and then packed up for an afternoon at the beach with the girls—and of course, the surfboards and boogie boards came along! Even Poopy, the ever-faithful neighborhood dog, trotted behind us and joined in on the fun. The kids had a blast catching waves, building sandcastles, and just enjoying the sunshine and salt air.
In the evening, we shifted gears and celebrated Randy’s birthday with cake, singing, and plenty of smiles. Afterward, we had a special devotion time with the kids followed by a super fun craft—bedazzling sunglasses! Watching everyone’s creativity come to life with sparkles and rhinestones was such a joyful moment.
Just before bedtime, we handed out the gift bags we had brought along for each of the girls and the two boys at El Refugio. Their excitement and gratitude were the perfect way to end the day.
Today was full of so many meaningful moments—faith, fun, friendship, and a whole lot of joy. We’re heading to bed with full hearts and thankful spirits.
