Our day started with rooftop devotions and prayer as the sun came up over Ensenada. After breakfast, a large group of us headed into a nearby community to hand out invitations for a Monday evening event—dinner and a devotion time open to all. The walk was hot and dusty, but we managed to hand out nearly 100 invitations door to door.
Afterward, we met up for tacos and got a taste of the local flavor—literally. Some of us tried beef head, cactus, and horchata for the first time. It was a fun and delicious break.
Back at El Refugio, the afternoon was busy. We worked together to prep food hampers for the migrant camp and to get everything ready for the youth event we were hosting that evening. It took the whole team—cleaning, cooking, organizing games, and setting up the space.
By 5:00pm, about 30 local youth had arrived. The energy was high, and the evening was full of food, games, and connection. Randy surprised everyone with a massive platter stacked with fries, onion rings, meat, cheese, and sauces—it was a hit!
We heard two beautiful testimonies by the fire, and as the sun set, we wrapped up the night with singing, dancing, and time together.
We’re thankful for every person who came and for the opportunity to share this experience with them.
