Hebron Medical Clinic

Heading

Since its inception, Hebron Medical Clinic (HMC) has seen and treated over 88,000 patients. Hundreds of people wait for medical attention every day, with some sleeping overnight by the registration desk before it opens at 8:00 am. Even on the days when there are four or five hundred patients, the faithful staff of HMC work hard to see every single person before the work day ends.

On my third day in Phnom Penh, I had the privilege of being a patient myself. Due to an infection that flared up upon arriving, I registered to become a patient, waited to see a doctor, got tested, and received antibiotics. As I waited at each stage of the process, I joined the long line of patients experiencing uncertainty, fear, and impatience. In the end, the whole process took around two hours, and it cost me USD 16.50. I was happy to pay this very affordable amount, but I knew that many of HMC’s patients can’t pay even one dollar to receive the medical help they need. Some might face additional barriers that dissuade or prevent them from seeking help. But patients know that when they come to HMC, they won’t be turned away.

As our team has met with the staff, talked together, and gotten to know this ministry, it's so clear to see both the need, and the provision of God. Please pray as we continue to discern what future engagement with HMC could look like, and where God may be leading.
