As our team ventures back to Cambodia this May 2026, we are presented with a new serving opportunity. Our team visited a medical facility called Hebron Medical Centre. HMC was started by a Korean doctor name Kim Woojung who had a heart and vision of providing healthcare to the people of Cambodia. HMC has been serving for over 18 years and is still active today. Due to the health of Dr. Kim, a new director named Ethan Helm and a new COO named Pastor Park was appointed earlier this year to take over the daily duties of the HMC.
Our Tenth team of three (a retired nurse, a lawyer and a logistics person) met with Ethan and Pastor Park. Pastor Park gave us a tour of the medical centre and how the operation runs during the day. Our team came to explore and learn the needs of HMC. In hopes of creating a partnership program where Tenth Church can send medical professionals to serve HMC. Through our discussions, there were four major needs that HMC are present at this time. More general surgeons to perform and train local doctors, financial support, inventory/pharmacy database software and technical IT support/admin staff. We will continue to discern this opportunity and look forward to the next steps according to His plans.
God is being active at HMC due to staff having a daily devotional in the morning and worship/prayer at noon. The staff were very welcoming and have a passion to serve their fellow Cambodians. Stay tuned for our next story…
