Meet the Board

Jim Miller

Chairman

Jim is the owner and principal consultant of TCS Performance Strategies Inc., a Human Resource consulting firm specializing in organizational assessment, specifically employee and customer engagement research and development. His prior board experiences includes being the first Board Chair for HFL, as well as board positions with a long-term care seniors facility and Surrey Alliance Church. Jim is also a supporter and volunteer at the Union Gospel Mission and the Salvation Army. He and his wife reside in Langley, BC.

Dick Westeringh

Treasurer

Dick is a local developer and builder in the Chilliwack area with a passion to care for children and people in need. Dick and his wife Mary Anne have 10 children, 5 of whom are adopted from various countries. Dick attends Sardis Fellowship Baptist Church and had also been attending the monthly Shekinah event for years.

Harvey Adrian

Secretary

Harvey has been involved in various roles of church and non-profit board leadership for years, and was an early supporter of HFL, contributing some resources to our initial board model and make-up. Harvey and his wife Darlene moved away from Chilliwack for a few years to be closer to their children and grandchildren, but in 2011 moved back to the area. Harvey also serves on the Board of Directors of the Briercrest Schools.

Dave Blundell

Director

Dave gives leadership to the organization with the Board of Directors and through the Sr. Leadership Team. He was married to Heidi in 1997 and has two children, Caleb (1998) and Abby (1999). In addition to serving and leading at HFL, Dave loves to hang out with his family as well as read, write and coach baseball.

Nick Derksen

Director

Nick is a local businessman who primarily focuses on development and real estate investing in Chilliwack. Prior to starting Summit Pacific Properties, he attended Ambrose University and was a youth pastor for 7 years. He brings a unique perspective from both the church ministry and business world. Nick and his wife Courtney are actively involved in leadership in the local church and running consistent mission trips to Mexico. Spending time with their 3 young boys Micah, Wyatt and Weston bring them the most joy.

Josh Greggain

Director

Josh Greggain is a family physician in Hope, and the medical director of Fraser Canyon Hospital. He is married to an amazing woman, Jennifer, has two children, Darren and Elizabeth, and a three-legged-dog named Rudy. Josh and Jen were first involved with HFL on a mission trip to Haiti in 2004. He has been an active member of his local community, Crossroads Community Church, and on the board of Cascade Christian School. He has served on the mission field in short-term missions since 1997. He is looking forward to an opportunity to be serve in the board with HFL, seeking God’s continued direction for the organization.

Kathy Krahn

Director

Kathy is involved in various volunteer areas of her local church (River of Life) and on the MCC Relief Sale Foods Committee. She has had the privilege of participating on several missions trips to Brazil and Ukraine over the last 6 years.  Kathy graduated from Columbia Bible College in 1986 and now lives with her husband Rob, and their two sons Derek and Karl in Greendale.

Kelly O’Neill

Director

Kelly is the Director of Human Resources with Hub International Insurance Brokers. Kelly and her husband Chad moved from Ontario to British Columbia in 2005 and have had the opportunity to serve together in Haiti on two occasions with HFL. Kelly and Chad live in Chilliwack with their children, Dublin (b. 2009) and Teagan (b. 2011). The O’Neill family attends Sardis Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoys camping and playing sports together.

Jake Oostenbrink

Director

Jake works as a emergency physician at Chilliwack General Hospital, where he uses his skills to help those in need. During a missions trip to Kenya with his family a few years ago, he realized the importance of getting connected with trusted partners in the mission field. Since then he has gotten involved with and become a supporter of HFL. Jake and his wife Alma have three boys and reside in Chilliwack, where they attend Southside Church. Jake loves mountain biking, skiing and hanging out with his family.
